Chiba Children’s Kidsdom

If you’re looking for a fun, budget-friendly day trip from Tokyo with kids, KidsDom (Children’s Kingdom) in Chiba is a great option.
It’s about a 1–2 hour drive from central Tokyo, with easy access and plenty of attractions to keep the whole family entertained.

From go-karts and fishing to wide grassy plazas and play areas, KidsDom offers a full day of fun for a very reasonable price.

Admission & Fees

  • Adults: ¥900

  • Children (elementary and junior high school): ¥300

  • Infants: ¥200

  • Parking: ¥800 per day

Attractions are ticketed separately and can be paid for individually depending on what you choose to do.
Prices for attractions range from ¥200 to ¥800.

First Impressions
When you enter the park, the first thing that catches your eye is Chipper-kun’s Clock Tower.
Every hour, the castle rises and a short show begins, telling the story of Chipper-kun’s adventure as he saves the princess of the castle. It’s a charming little touch that sets the tone for the park.

Fishing Fun
We started with the fishing experience, where you can catch small carp and release them back into the pond.
We managed to catch three, but my daughter wasn’t too keen on touching them!

Relaxing & Playing
The grassy plaza area is spacious and perfect for a picnic or some downtime.
Many families were relaxing there between attractions.

There are also free play areas, including one called Asobing Village.
One of the highlights was a set of quirky mirror installations that even adults will find amusing.

Rides & Attractions
We tried the boat ride next (¥400).
After that, there was some lobbying from the kids to go straight to the go-karts!

There’s also a free athletic zone with lots of climbing and sliding equipment—great for letting kids burn off energy.

To get to the go-kart track, we crossed a small lake.
At first, I noticed what looked like an enormous solar panel floating on the water, and later discovered it was actually Japan’s largest floating mega solar power plant—a surprising bonus for us adults!

Go-Kart Adventure
The go-kart ride costs ¥800 per person and runs along a 1.5 km course through the woods.
It’s more challenging than it looks and only those with a driver’s license are allowed to drive.
Definitely worth trying if you meet the requirements!

Bubble Pool & More
Another hit with my daughter was the bubble pool, where kids can play inside a giant bubble for about 15 minutes.
She had a blast spinning around and didn’t want to leave!

We also discovered a long slide (free of charge), which became an instant favorite.

A Full Day of Fun
We wrapped up the day back at the athletic zone, where the kids played non-stop until closing time.
They were happily exhausted by the end of the day.

KidsDom is a fantastic place to spend an affordable, active, and memory-filled day with the family.
Highly recommended for those traveling with young children!
